The first idea for the computer was the Analytical Machine that was thought up by Charles Babbage in 1834 but was never created. The Colossus was another early computer that was one of the best code breakers ever. It helped in the attack on Normandy and the D-Day invasion. Calculators are a certain type of computer. Computers were originally made to calculate equations until the internet was invented and then computers and calculators separated into two different things. Calculators are devices that have helped humans calculate very large numbers and figure out percentages. Without this invention we would still be using pen and paper!

Computers have evolved greatly since then and they still keep evolving today. Some of the greatest computer companies like Apple, IBM, and Microsoft have helped in the evolution. Apple created the first plastic and color computers, IBM was the very first computer company and Microsoft made more important software for the computer than any other company.
